Ostrograd Region v1.0 Beta2 (0.38.x)
I am finally releasing the public version of the "Ostrograd Region" map for BeamNG.drive.
This is a fictional Ukrainian region, 2x2 km in size, that I have been working on for over a year and a half. The map started as a simple rework of another location, but over time, the project expanded significantly and took on a life of its own.
The map features:
— urban areas;
— a residential complex;
— a hospital;
— a shopping zone/plaza;
— a Shell gas station;
— city outskirts;
— villages and rural roads;
— courtyards, parking lots, and sidewalks;
— tree lines, bodies of water, and industrial zones;
— multiple spawn points;
— locations for screenshots, relaxed driving, and exploration.
The map was created primarily for atmosphere, casual driving, screenshots, and exploration. You can drive around the city, head out to the outskirts, pull into courtyards, find great camera angles, and simply soak in the surroundings.
Important:
The map is quite resource-intensive. You may experience stutters, FPS drops, and loading hitches, especially on lower-end PCs. I tried to optimize the map using LODs and low-poly models, but the project still turned out to be large.
Traffic:
There is traffic on the map, but it isn't perfect. In some places, the AI might behave awkwardly because the map was originally made for my own use, and I usually play without traffic.
